2019 Porsche Cayenne: Design

The 2019 Porsche Cayenne enters the third-generation on the new platform from VW’s group called MLB. This lightweight architecture debuted under the newest generation of the Audi Q7. The structure of the new underpinning consists of more high-strength materials while for the bodywork Porsche has extensively used an aluminum. Overall, these improve model’s performance and the Gen 3 Cayenne is 143 pounds lighter than the previous generation or more impressively 400 pounds lighter than the first generation. But despite lighter, the model has gain about 3 inches in length and 1.7 inches in width while rides on the same 114-inch wheelbase.

Styling changes, on the other hand, are evolutionary. Despite looking very similar as the previous version, Porsche claims that all panels are re-sculpted and indeed the new version looks fresher and more elegant than the previous generation while at the first glance it is hard to say why. The closer inspection will reveal more pronounced grille version, tighter lines, bigger wheels and lower stance. The rear also includes attractive light bar connecting the new taillights.

Interior, Equipment:

Inside, the new Cayenne is more spacious, more modern and technical. The cabin actually shares the similar design as the newest Panamera. The dash has more surface covered with screens. In front of the driver is Porsche’s tach settled between a pair of 7-inch displays. The center stack includes 12.3-inch touchscreen used to handle the Porsche Communication Management system. Porsche, however, retained familiar controls for the mirrors and windows while some buttons are on the panel between front passengers.

The redesigned cabin also offers 3.5 additional cubes of the cargo space behind the rear seats for the total of 27.2 cubes. The max cargo capacity is 60.38 cubes.

As for the available equipment, the new Cayenne comes in three trims, the base, S and Turbo. The standard equipment includes LED headlights, leather seats, 8-way power and heated seats, dual-zone climate control, navigation, 10 speakers, etc. The S version upgrades with the Active Suspension Management, active headlights, Alcantara headliner, 18-way heated seats, Bose sound system, etc. Available upgrades will also be rear axle steering, Dynamic Chassis Control, Burmester sound system, LED Matrix headlights, etc.
