The rebadged Qashqai sells in the US as the Rogue Sport and it isn’t the sportier version of the well-selling, compact Roque. The Rogue Sport compared to other models slots somewhere between subcompact and compact classes. The model seats five persons and also delivers good cargo space. The look is also attractive and innovative tech is the strong side of every Nissan.
The Roque Sport debuted in the US for the 2017 model year. Nissan just made some equipment reorganization for the 2018 version. The 2019 Nissan Rogue Sport won’t also be the matter of radical improvements. It is a candidate to gain the ProPilot advanced tech like the global Qashqai version. Nissan hasn’t yet commented on this topic. More standard features and tech should also be on the offer for the new model year. Nissan might also offer the new styling packages and wheel options.
2019 Nissan Rogue Sport: Design
The Nissan Rogue Sport is another embodiment of Nissan’s familiar and attractive design theme. The look of the model has a lot in common with the larger Rogue, especially when seen from the front. However, familiar lines and elements fit better with Rogue Sport’s smaller proportions.
The V-shaped grille is familiar brand’s motif and it comes with sharp-style headlights. The subtle lines on the hood add more fun to the look and profile isn’t rich with sharp lines but still looks attractive. The rear is also smooth and nicely shaped taillights contribute to its attractiveness.
The 2019 Nissan Rogue Sport will offer 16-inch wheels and they will grow to 19 inches in the top version. Nissan will bring new color options and design of wheels.
The Rogue Sport has above average interior comfort and cargo space in the class. The front seats support the body well and it is easy to get in and leave. The model has the maximum of 61.2 cubes of the cargo space. The design of the dash is attractive and with well-organized controls and the material quality and textures are also good.
As for the equipment, the smaller Rogue rates well thanks to the available driver aids. The ProPilot semiautonomous tech should appear in the model and it will be the eyes and brain of the model when activated with the single button press. The system is the step toward self-driving technology and will allow some level of autonomous drive.
The Rogue Sport will also deliver up-to-date infotainment system and smartphone compatibility. The base models will include a smaller center screen, cloth upholstery, USB and satellite radio, etc. Upgrading to upper grades will bring dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, better upholstery, and additional safety measures among others.
2019 Nissan Rogue Sport: Performance
On the performance front, the 2019 Nissan Rogue Sport will return with the familiar engine under the hood.
A 2.0-liter inline-4 engine focuses on the efficiency rather than the performance. Nissan hasn’t announced upgrades and probably the power and torque figures will stay at the current levels. The engine makes 141 hp and torque of 147 pound-feet. The continuously variable transmission is another part of the system. The model also offers the front- and all-wheel drive.
The fuel economy earns 32 mpg on the highway with the front-wheel drive. It will likely stay there for the new model year. The four-wheel drive will return 30 mpg highway or 27 mpg combined.
2019 Nissan Rogue Sport: Release, Price
The 2019 Nissan Rogue Sport will again start from around $21, 500 and new tech will add to the price. The arrival will be in the second part of the year.
