The large, three-row Nissan Pathfinder priorities the functionality for the large families and combines it with the good balance of quality and power. The model can seat seven and the powerful engine also provides plenty of towing. The modern safety equipment is available from the base version while in the upper grades it offers a new level of luxury.
There were several upgrades for the 2018 version of the Pathfinder with the added several safety features in lower grades and more accessible Midnight package. The model, however, received the mid-cycle update for the 2017 model year with the updated styling, interior, engine technologies and suspension and steering settings. The 2019 Nissan Pathfinder could be the last version of this generation and therefore it won’t bring substantial upgrades. New package and more features in lower versions should appear while the new-gen version should emerge sometime in 2019.
2019 Nissan Pathfinder: Styling
The 2019 Nissan Pathfinder won’t be far from the 2017 styling update and it will continue to live on it. New color options, wheel designs and styling package will likely appear for the new model year while the new-generation version should bring more than evolutionary upgrades on the outside as well as under the skin.
The Pathfinder is a large and good-looking crossover SUV. The face of the model is defined with brand’s V-motion grille style and nicely fitted bumpers. An interesting body sculpting around the edges and rear fenders and dynamic characters line also improve the visual interest despite the model’s large proportions.
The Pathfinder is well-appointed and quiet inside. The materials and textures are also classy and it is also surprisingly roomy inside. Nissan is also known for its high-comfort seats and adjustability. The Pathfinder also provides almost 80 cubes of the cargo space while can tow up to 6, 000 pounds.
The new Pathfinder will have up-to-date infotainment system and most of the active safety features available in the base version. The model will also offer the blind-spot monitoring with the rear cross-traffic alert and surround vision cameras while should also bring the Nissan’s ProPilot Assist technologies.
The model will also offer a luxury leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, power steering wheel, wood interior accents, premium Bose sound system and more.
2019 Nissan Pathfinder: Powertrain
The Pathfinder combines a smooth 3.5-liter V-6 engine and continuously variable transmission. The engine recently received some technology and power upgrades and also increased the towing capability. The engine delivers an adequate power of 284 hp and torque of 259 pound-feet and these numbers will likely stay the same for the 2019 Nissan Pathfinder version.
Nissan also stiffened the suspension and re-tuned the settings of the steering system and the new Pathfinder should continue with the familiar ride manners. The towing limit should also be up to 6, 000 pounds. Expect also 23 mpg combined fuel economy with the front-wheel-drive Pathfinder. The four-wheel drive will lose just 1 mpg from the combined efficiency.
2019 Nissan Pathfinder: Arrival, Price
The 2019 Nissan Pathfinder will hit the market this fall. Expect it again to start slightly above $30, 000.
