The Armada, Nissan’s largest, three-row, full-size SUV delivers sufficient power, interior comfort and utility. A long list of standard features and driving quality better than on most rivals are also the strong side of this model. Nissan redesigned this model for the 2017 model year and it uses the structure of the upscale QX80 and the body shell of the global Patrol. For the 2018 model year, it gained new Platinum Reverse trim and more standard features including an 8-inch touchscreen interface.
The 2019 Nissan Armada will also get equipment-related upgrades while since it was recently redesigned radical changes are not expected. The new model will likely bring upgraded infotainment system and more standard safety equipment. The PilotAssit system could also be the part of the update.
2019 Nissan Armada: Design
The 2019 Nissan Armada will continue with the same design based on the QX80 underpinning and global Patrol sheetmetal. The shape of the model is basically the traditional big SUV two-box form but Nissan tried to make model’s appearance more appealing with plenty of curves, contrasting fenders and some flourishes.
For the new model year, Nissan will likely offer new color combinations, the new set of wheels and possibly new exterior package.
Inside the cabin, the Armada won’t also make radical changes. The body-on-frame, eight-seat SUV has attractive and highly attractive interior design. The Armada provides 95.4 cubes of the cargo space behind the front seats and 49.9 cubes behind the middle row. With all seats up, the cargo room is 16.5 cubes.
Equipment wise, the Armada will offer plenty of desirable features as standard. The base model will include automatic LED headlights, dual-zone climate control, power and heated front seats, etc. The navigation system, an 8-inch touchscreen, satellite and HD radio, Bose sound system and more.
The model will also use a number of active safety systems like surround view cameras, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, forward and rearward automatic braking, etc. Nissan will likely make more active safety system available on the base versions and the ProAssit system should also debut on this model.
Upper trims will add features like the two-tone leather upholstery, larger alloy wheels, rear seat entertainment, ventilated front seats, heated middle row, unique accents, etc.
2019 Nissan Armada: Performance
Under the hood, the 2019 Nissan Armada will have a powerful 5.6-liter V-8 engine. This engine will provide 390 hp and torque of 395 pound-feet. The engine work in the combination with the 7-speed automatic transmission and standard rear-wheel drive system. The sophisticated all-wheel-drive system will be optional.
The Armada will ride on the fully independent suspension which will provide great ride comfort, better than on most rivals. The model can also tow up to 8,500 pounds. The fuel economy will, however, pay the tribute to the high power and towing capabilities. The model will return 14/19 mpg city/highway.
