Nissan hasn’t revealed its plans for the new Murano. However, after refreshed Roque and Qashqai this model could be next for the mid-cycle update. So, we expect some exterior and interior tweaks combined with trim and safety upgrades. Nissan might also improve its performance and efficiency.
2018 Nissan Murano: Styling
Nissan ‘s designers were very creative for model’s last redesign giving the third-generation Murano one of the most contemporary looks. With many details, dynamic body lines, bold grille, attractive headlights and floating roofline, this mid-size utility vehicle look like nothing else on the road. However, in the third year of this generation, this model should bring some styling changes.
Nissan hasn’t said but the newest reports suggesting similar modifications as on the new Qashqai. The new 2018 Nissan Murano should get brand’s latest version of the V-motion grille combined with refreshed boomerang-themed headlights. The front and rear bumpers should also feature some changes and the rear side will also get a new graphics for the rear lights. Nissan should also offer new wheel designs.
Entering the cabin, we should notice changed steering wheel design and updated dashboard materials and texture. The Nissan Connect system should feature updated system interface.
The Murano will also have ‘’zero gravity’ front seats for the long-ride comfort while rear passengers will also enjoy in rear seat quality and available space.
On the other hand, new crossover will offer high-quality materials and top-notch luxury features in upper trims. Heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, leather upholstery, attractive textures, memory settings, premium sound system and more will be available if you want to spend more.
The model will also come with latest safety equipment. More of advanced safety features should be available in lower trims. Nissan hasn’t revealed the full list of safety features and hasn’t also commented would this model get the ProPilot technology like the new Qashqai.
2018 Nissan Murano: Performance
With the current engine version, Nissan Murano provides a good mix of power and efficiency which fit class standards. It isn’t especially quick when accelerating but delivers good handling and responsive steering.
The new 2018 Murano will likely arrive with the V-6 engine but we will see with some improvements or not. The current 3.5-liter V-6 produces 260 hp and 240 pound-feet of torque. Current EPA figures are 24 mpg combined.
It will again come with the continuously variable transmission and front- and all-wheel drive. The new engine and improved drivetrain could push the Murano performance from the class average.
