2018 Nissan Kicks: Design
The 2018 Nissan Kicks is dramatically styled compact crossover designed around the V platform which is also the base of the Nissan Micra. The Kicks is sized above the Juke and has the longer wheelbase. Its muscular body has 168.9 inches in length and 69.3 inches in width. The model sits on the 102.8-inch wheelbase.
From the visual perspective, the Kicks is the compact crossover with the muscular body and Nissan’s signature elements. The front will look similar the styling of the X-Trail while the rear will showcase the resemblance to the Renault Captur.
The front will, of course, be defined with brand’s bold V-motion grille sitting between striking headlights which come accentuated with the boomerang-shaped LEDs. The sculpted front bumper, muscular fenders and pronounced creases on side panels will also add to model’s impression including also the floating roofline. The rear side will also be interesting thanks to sharply-styled taillights and sleek bumper.
Inside the model will feature clean and modern design. The two-tone dash covered with the leather sections will include large center touchscreen interface. The three-spoke, the flat-bottomed steering wheel will be equipped with audio and other controls.
The passengers will enjoy in supportive zero gravity seats available in full leather padding. They will have easy access and exit. The cargo capacity will be enough for most of the things the buyer will need.
The Kicks will also offer a 7-inch infotainment system, digital instrument cluster option, automatic climate control, navigation, leather upholstery, and some advanced safety systems. The model will be available with the advanced airbag system, Surround View Monitor with Moving Object Detection, Tire Pressure Monitoring, etc.
2018 Nissan Kicks: Powertrains
What will be under the hood of the 2018 Nissan Kicks will depend on the market the model is sold. The Latin America versions will get a 1.6-liter flex-fuel engine with the capacity of producing around 118 hp. The engine will work in the combination with the continuously variable transmission system. This engine won’t be particularly punchy. But it will be adequate for the city drive and the system will return the class average fuel economy.
On the other hand, other markets like the South Africa and India could get an even smaller engine. A 1.5-liter unit from the Micra could be one of the solutions for these markets.
